Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026
Session Run does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. No accounts, no servers, no analytics, no third parties.
What data the extension handles
To do its job, Session Run reads and stores information about your browser tabs:
- Tab URLs
- Tab titles
- Tab favicons
- Window and tab grouping information
This data is used solely to save, display, search, and manage your browser sessions.
Where your data is stored
- Locally in your browser, using
chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your device.
- In files you choose to export. If you set a save folder, sessions are written as Markdown (.md) files there. You control these files entirely. JSON exports are saved only when you click to export them.
What the extension does NOT do
- It does not send any data to any server or third party.
- It does not use analytics, telemetry, or tracking.
- It does not require an account or any sign-in.
- It does not request host permissions or run content scripts on the pages you visit.
- It does not access page content — only tab metadata (URL, title, favicon) provided by the browser.
Permissions
| Permission | Purpose |
tabs | Read tab URLs, titles, and favicons to capture and display sessions |
tabGroups | Create and manage color-coded browser tab groups |
storage, unlimitedStorage | Store saved sessions locally without size limits |
Data retention and deletion
Your sessions remain until you delete them within the extension or clear the browser's extension storage. Uninstalling the extension removes its local storage. Any .md or JSON files you exported remain in your chosen folder until you delete them yourself.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page and in the project repository.
